National Science Day
Every year we celebrate National Science Day on 28th February to honour our Nobel laureate Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman for his invention of the Raman effect through his experiments on the scattering of light. Nation pays tribute and expresses gratitude to Sir CV Raman and to all the scientists on this day for their genius and dedication. It is a day, which attracts many young minds to take up science as their career and a day to see novel scientific achievements. The basic objective of observation of National Science Day is to spread the message of importance of science and its application among the people.This is essential to accelerate the pace of development. Even in the 21st century and despite many significant achievements certain sections of our society are still guided by blind faith and beliefs, which is reflected in the quality of decision making on developmental issues. On February 28th, 1928, Sir. C. V. Raman announced the discovery of the Raman effect at the Indian I nstitute of Science in Bangalore. Sir C. V. Raman was honoured with the first prestigious Nobel Award in Physics for the country in 1930. Hence the National Science Day holds great significance for Indian Science and scientific community.Science has contributed a great deal to human welfare. Through the gospel of reason and experimental observation, by which it works, it has enabled man to acquire intellectual and mental excellence. It helps inculcate scientific temper among school children. Health and hygiene issues are prime concerns for the common people. Numerous biblical personalities have said that God is eternal. The Lord is said to be and ever lasting father that will reign forever . God is said to be a king in an everlasting Kingdom . God has always been and always will be. He coexists with time; he does not exist in time. Most Christians will testify that God is always everywhere. There are no shortages of passages that say that Gods eyes are here and there, and that his eyes are everywhere . God could, according to the Trinity, be in many places at once, being in many beings . However, we will run into a problem when we use the Holy Trinity to explain the words that God said in Genesis 1:26. This passage proves, not that there is more than one god, but that there are two or more beings that are a part of one God. These beings, according to Genesis 1:26, share a common image. Most Christians who believe in the Holy Trinity believe in an omnipotent abstract God, the Holy Ghost or Spirit, and the Son who is, according to the Trinity, the manly manifestation of the omnipotent God. In the Bible it says that no man may see God and live to tell of it, so how could Jesus Disciples spr ead the good news and speak of Jesus and still manage to live? Chinese Wedding Gifts If youve been invited to a Chinese wedding, you may have some confusion about the customs and etiquette involved in choosing a gift. For most weddings, all you need to bring is a red envelope with enough money to cover your expenses at the wedding. Special circumstances may require a different gift, though. The tips below will help ensure you make the appropriate selection. Red Envelopes: The Standard Gift Picking out a gift for a Chinese wedding is usually pretty simple. Thats because, in lieu of gifts, Chinese wedding guests typically give a red envelope calledà hà ³ngbà o (ç ´â¦Ã¥Å'â¦). If you go to a wedding, the money in the red envelope should have a value equivalent to a nice gift that would be given at a Western wedding. It should also be enough money to cover your expenses at the wedding (for example, your meal and drinks). If a wedding dinner costs the newlyweds $75 per guest, then the money in the red envelope you bring should be at least $75. However, you want to make sure to give your gift in the currency that the couple actually uses- for example, the Thai Bhat. Selecting the right amount of money to give is not as simple as learning how much the wedding venue charges per plate, however. Customarily, the amount of money gifted is also relative to your relationship to the recipient. The closer your relationship to the bride and groom, the more money that is expected. Immediate family, such as parents and siblings, should give more money than casual friends. In addition, it is not uncommon for business partners to be invited to weddings, and business partners often put more money in the envelope to strengthen the business relationship. In Chinese tradition, some numbers are considered luckier than others. If youd like, you can give an amount with lucky figures such as eight or nine (avoid unlucky numbers such as four, though). But unlike at Western weddings, couples will rarely have a registry or release a list of wanted gifts.
