Me and Dave and Mount Olympus The human race is divided up in many different group based on nationality, race, economy etc. According to the UN declaration of human rights, every individual has the treated as an equal no matter race, gender, religion or others. But this is not what we see in the world this day today. One of the world biggest problems today is social and economical inequality. The economical inequality problem can be helped by financial chances, fx. Through a fair distribution of the governmental tax money. Social inequality lays much deeper in the human species because the society always has been divided into several social groups. This is a problem today because human of a higher order feels to people with a lower social rank, which creates a lot of ignorance and hate. Michel Faber’s essay from 2006; Me and Dave and Mount Olympus, deals with problem such as inequality, social accept, ignorance and realisation. The story is told as a memory by a first person narrator. The use of a first person narrator makes the telling become very authentic and realistic, which draws the reader’s attention. His story appears as a storytelling because of his slight use of spoken language. This is seen at page 4, second section. â€Å"OK, so this welsh skinhead could never read ‘Four Quartets’, could barely read the ‘Beano’†.
